Parents Workshop - Preparing Our Family for the 2nd Generation Blessing

The Blessing & Family Department (BFD) Thailand successfully conducted the Parents’ Workshop titled “Preparing Our Family for the 2nd Generation Blessing” on March 22, 2026, at the FFWPU Thailand Headquarters in Bangkok, with a total of 45 parents in attendance. Although the official program was conducted as a half-day workshop, the overall experience began with the Sunday Service sermon, Understanding the 2nd Generation Blessing, delivered by Mrs. Editha Srisuttisa-ard. This message provided a meaningful spiritual foundation, emphasizing that parents are not expected to be perfect, but sincere—willing to grow, reflect, and walk together with their children. It also highlighted that the second generation stands in a position of inheritance, and their Blessing is centered on realizing the ideal family rooted in Heavenly Parent’s love.

The afternoon workshop began with an opening prayer and a heart preparation session, inviting parents to reflect on whether they approach their child’s Blessing with faith or anxiety. This created a sincere and reflective atmosphere that continued throughout the program. The workshop included three main lectures: True Parents’ Guidance for the Second Generation by Mr. Sirapop Laddaklom, Significance and Process of Parents Matching by Mrs. Ursula McLackland, and Attitude toward the 2nd Generation Matching, also by Mrs. Ursula McLackland. Each session was followed by discussions, allowing participants to relate the content to their own family situations and share insights with one another. A testimony from a blessed family and a Q&A session further enriched the program, providing practical insights and encouraging open sharing.

Participants gained a clearer understanding of the value of the second generation Blessing and their responsibility as parents in guiding their children. A particularly touching moment came during the lecture by Mr. Sirapop Laddaklom, where he shared his personal testimony. He explained how he was raised by his mother through consistent prayer and strong faith. Although he experienced difficulties in following this path at one point, his mother’s sincerity and close relationship with him guided him back. Today, he lives as a blessed family. This testimony deeply moved the participants and demonstrated the lasting impact of a parent’s faith and heart.

The lecture on Parents Matching emphasized that this is not only a practical process but a providential responsibility entrusted to parents. Parents are called to take initiative in guiding the process, while respecting the child’s ownership in making the final decision. The importance of communication—between husband and wife, between parents and children, and between families—was highlighted as essential for a healthy matching process. Parents were also encouraged to align with God’s will through prayer and sincerity, recognizing that the Blessing is not the final goal, but the starting point of building an ideal family.

During the reflection session, many participants realized that they had been guided more by anxiety than by faith regarding their child’s future. Parents expressed a desire to build stronger relationships with their children and create a more loving and supportive home environment. Overall, the workshop provided a meaningful space for reflection, learning, and renewed determination. Participants left with a deeper understanding of the Blessing and a stronger commitment to guide their children with faith, love, and sincerity, reaffirming that the foundation of the Blessing begins within the family.

Testimonies:

“Prior to attending this workshop, I felt a strong need to prepare everything perfectly for my child’s future. However, I came to realize that what is most important is not perfection, but having a sincere heart that trusts Heavenly Parent. This experience encouraged me to guide my child with greater faith rather than anxiety.”

“I often felt concerned about the matching process and whether my child would make the right decisions. Through the workshop, I gained a clearer understanding that my role as a parent is not to control, but to support and trust both my child and the providential process. This realization brought me a sense of peace.”

“One of the most meaningful insights I received is that preparation for the Blessing begins within the family environment. It is not a one-time event, but something cultivated over time through love, communication, and example. I was reminded of my responsibility to create such an environment at home.”

“This workshop helped me realize that I am not alone in this journey as a parent. Listening to the lectures and sharing with other participants gave me encouragement and renewed confidence to walk together with my child toward the Blessing with a more positive and hopeful mindset.”
